Walking at Night by Myself is an experiential performance using 8-channel surround sound, projection, and two Asian female performers.
Two nameless women in matching striped dresses walk into the night as one. The steady rhythm of their footsteps gives way to the unnerving metronome of sine tones encircling the listener. White vertical lines scan across their striped dresses, revealing hidden colours and an eerie oil sheen. Sound and light continue to pull at the edges, leaving ghostly afterimages and confounding patterns. What begins as a simple nighttime walk threatens to dissolve into something far more sinister…
Walking at Night by Myself is an unabashedly hypnotic and spooky audiovisual show—a study in form and rhythm evoking confusion and the uncanny. It’s a psychological horror where the plot unfolds through visual interference patterns occurring between the costumes and projection, in tandem with live-performed surround sound design and choreography, creating a performance that transcends from the spectacular to the phenomenological: from seeing to experiencing. This experiential work questions the surety of our senses, opens us up to the changing environs around us, and lulls us deeper into our own internal worlds

Stripping psychological horror down to its bare bones, Walking at Night by Myself confounds the senses with an audiovisual blitz that undermines the reliability of perception and transforms a nighttime walk into something far more sinister.
K BODY AND MIND is a maximalist sci-fi odyssey brought to life through minimalist and machinelike theatricality. Set in a dystopian future, a security specialist yearns to escape the ravages of sickness and war by starting life over in a bioengineered body. But when a hostile entity invades, she must confront a ghost from her past in this cyberpunk multimedia experience.
With a creative team with roots in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and with storytelling and design influences pulled from 90s anime, second generation K-pop, and the femme monsters of Asian horror…SEEING DOUBLE is what you get when a group of Asian diaspora kids come together to explore the farthest reaches our imaginations.

Knox presents: Water Words
Water Words is an acclaimed puppet theatre production co-produced by Théâtre Motus and Compagnie Djarama, featuring artists from Senegal and Canada. The show explores the global relationship with water by contrasting the daily realities of two friends: Mamby, who lives in Senegal and must seek water
Two friends, Mamby and Hélène; one lives in Senegal and the other in Canada. They both have burning feet, one from hot sand, the other from winter boots. Water sets them apart, one lives where there is an abundance of water, snow, and ice, while the other must seek water, carrying it in buckets.
“MAMBY: I think that water transmits everything we say. Water understands all languages.”
The main character is water, a precious liquid that is scarce in many places. Before our eyes, Hélène and Mamby give life and language to water’s different forms: spring water, well water, salt water, rainwater... They voice the challenges, fears, frustrations, and worries accompanying the lack and abundance of water, taking us from the Sahel region in West Africa to America.

As one of the most explosive and energetic jazz ensembles on the planet, CaneFire delivers a rollicking, high-octane show combining the white-hot energy of Cuban rhythm, the blinding musicianship of modern jazz, and the unbridled joy of the music of the Caribbean.
CaneFire’s signature sound revolves around its unconventional use of the steelpan – the only petroleum byproduct in the world that is actually good for you. Lossy is about an inability to take it all with us.
these are bodies at a loss, gathering together in a stream of movement. a state of recovery. seeking and sifting, grasping for an anchor. these are the bodies that were left behind, haunted by the ghostly traces of lost futures. a nostalgia for a world that never happened. it is at once real and science fiction, digital and embodied.
this liminal space holds a confrontation with the promise of future, and ever-present absences. a collision between our inexorable, ecstatic draw towards the limitless new, and a continuous loss — a perpetual state of mourning for what we are leaving behind. these are bodies compressed and incomplete. there is no answer. there is only the stream, and the blurring fragments of what we attempt to bring with us.
lossy is a warped ritual of transcendence. it is a carefree conjuring of a shiny new future “us”, and a collective grieving for what the future may no longer hold, once we finally arrive.
